The Customer is a regional water and waste management service provider with nearly 400,000 residential customers. As part of an overall infrastructure upgrade, the Customer needed to move their legacy Oracle® RAC database environment to a more modern platform. With six database servers, each with six Terabytes of data, the Customer needed expert help to perform the migration, maintain uninterrupted business operations and application performance during the infrastructure upgrade. The legacy Customer environment included multiple databases servers - both physical and virtual - for production, as well as, lower environments.
mLogica dedicated a team of Database Architects equipped with the STAR*M migration software suite for the primary role of streamlining the Oracle database migration process and managing the operational performance during and after the migration. STAR*M provided advanced automation through AI and Machine Learning to accelerate the migration process while lowering migration costs and business risk. The team was responsible for performance monitoring, remediating issues that caused operational inefficiencies and implementing best practices for data security. Once the migration was successful, the team tested the performance of databases in the new Oracle RAC Database environment and made sure that all applications were compatible with the upgraded platform.
The successful database migration and infrastructure upgrade translated into improved overall performance in the new system. The experienced team of mLogica professionals enabled a smooth migration engagement, maintaining uninterrupted application access, data integrity and security during the transition. mLogica’s professional services ensured ongoing functionality of legacy applications in the new environment, acting as a trusted advisor and partner throughout the entire IT modernization project.
