Position Summary

The Technical Project Manager will lead complex, data-driven technology initiatives in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. The role focuses on delivering analytics, reporting, and digital transformation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong technical project management skills, deep BFSI domain knowledge, and experience in analytics, data platforms, or digital banking systems.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of BFSI technology projects using PMP, Agile, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, resource allocation, timelines, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, data engineering, analytics, business operations, risk, and compliance.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of solutions supporting banking, insurance, or investment operations.

Technical & Analytics Oversight

  • Partner with data teams to design, implement, and deliver analytics dashboards, BI tools, and data pipelines for reporting and decision support.
  • Manage projects related to digital banking platforms, core banking systems, insurance policy administration, wealth management tools, or payment systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance for financial reporting and analytics.
  • Guide technical design, development, and testing, including UAT and integration testing.

BFSI Domain Knowledge

  • Apply expertise in banking operations, risk management, regulatory compliance (e.g., Basel III, IFRS, Solvency II), insurance underwriting, payments, or lending processes.
  • Support initiatives related to fraud detection, credit scoring, portfolio management, or customer analytics.
  • Stay current on BFSI trends, fintech innovation, and regulatory changes.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Serve as the liaison between business, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical details effectively to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and deliverables for technology, data, or analytics partners.

Risk, Compliance & Security

  • Ensure all solutions comply with financial regulations, data privacy laws, and internal security standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project and operational risks, particularly for financial systems, analytics platforms, and customer data.
  • Support internal and external audits, quality assurance reviews, and compliance reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • PMP certification preferred; Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.
  • 5–10+ years of experience managing technical projects in BFSI, fintech, or insurance environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, banking processes, insurance operations, or investment platforms.
  • Experience with analytics, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), data platforms, and reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing projects for:
    • Core banking or digital banking platforms
    • Insurance policy administration systems or claims platforms
    • Payment systems, credit risk, or fraud detection platforms
    • Regulatory reporting or compliance automation
    • Data analytics, AI/ML-driven financial insights, or predictive modeling
  • Familiarity with cloud banking solutions, FinTech integrations, or modern data architecture.
  • Lean Six Sigma or process-improvement background is a plus.
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile delivery models.
