Position Summary

The Technical Project Manager will lead complex, data-driven initiatives across healthcare technology, analytics, and operational domains. This role is responsible for managing project scope, timelines, and stakeholder alignment while ensuring that technical solutions meet clinical, operational, and regulatory needs. The ideal candidate has strong healthcare experience, advanced analytical acumen, and a proven track record of delivering technical projects using formal project management methodologies.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the full project lifecycle (initiation → planning → execution → monitoring → closure) using PMP-based methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate work across engineering/IT, analytics, clinical, and business teams.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality, security, and compliance requirements.

Technical & Analytical Oversight

  • Partner closely with data engineering, analytics, and IT teams to define system requirements.
  • Oversee technical solution development such as data integrations, analytics dashboards, system upgrades, workflow automation, and EHR enhancements.
  • Interpret complex healthcare data and analytics outputs to drive informed decisions.
  • Facilitate technical design reviews, requirements documentation, and testing cycles (UAT/SIT).

Healthcare Operations & Compliance

  • Apply domain knowledge of healthcare operations—clinical workflows, EHR systems, claims, quality metrics, population health, and revenue cycle.
  • Ensure solutions comply with HIPAA, security frameworks, and CMS/quality reporting guidelines.

Stakeholder Communication & Change Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and clinical/operational stakeholders.
  • Translate technical concepts into business language and ensure visibility into project status.
  • Lead change management around new technology adoption, including training and communication plans.

Risk, Issue & Vendor Management

  • Identify, triage, and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and technical deliverables.
  • Drive issue resolution across technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • PMP certified
  • Agile/Scrum certification preferred
  • 5–10+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in technical or healthcare IT project management.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data (EHR, claims, clinical quality, interoperability, HL7/FHIR, analytics KPIs).
  • Ability to work with technical tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau/Power BI, data warehousing concepts, API integrations).
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a regulated healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Projects involving:
    • EHR implementation or optimization (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.)
    • Data warehouse or data integration work (ETL/ELT, FHIR APIs)
    • Healthcare analytics dashboards and BI tools
    • Cloud migrations (AWS/Azure/GCP)
    • Cybersecurity or compliance-related technology initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma or process-improvement background is a plus.
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile delivery models.
