mLogica Integrates STAR*M with AWS Transform for Complex Database Modernization

News

mLogica has integrated STAR*M, its database modernization platform, with AWS Transform, bringing specialized database transformation and validation directly into the AWS agentic modernization workflow.

The integration extends AWS Transform into heterogeneous, application-coupled source and target patterns involving Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata and Db2. Within the current reference architecture, it complements the Full Stack Windows Modernization track.

For complex enterprise estates, the hardest work is rarely data movement. A target database can be created and populated without proving that the modernized system will behave as required in production. Stored procedures, transaction semantics, platform-specific SQL, and undocumented business rules all have to be discovered, transformed, and reconciled before a workload is ready for a production decision.

Under the integration, the AWS Transform Agent Registry discovers the registered mLogica capability, and the ATX Chat Agent invokes the mLogica orchestrator through Agent-to-Agent communication. STAR*M then assesses and extracts the source estate, applies qualified transformation rules, persists the resulting artifacts, deploys to the AWS target and validates the workload against defined acceptance criteria, with human review preserved at each production gate.

"The question our customers ask is not whether the data moved," said Satya Bhandary, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Modernization.ai. "It is whether the system still behaves the way the business needs. AI accelerates discovery and analysis, deterministic execution controls the transformation, and validation establishes readiness. That sequence is what makes a production decision defensible."

The integration does not displace AWS-native migration services. For standardized patterns, those services remain the right starting point. STAR*M provides a specialized execution path when procedural logic, semantic dependencies, reconciliation or performance requirements demand more than schema translation and data transfer.

AWS teams and delivery partners can schedule a technical working session with mLogica to qualify a workload and review the reference architecture. Enterprise customers can request an initial database assessment through Contact Us.
